Barbados + Charleston Connection

Historic Rice Mill

17 Lockwood Dr. Unit 101, Charleston, SC 29401

$275

The connections between Charleston and Barbados are inextricably linked. The relationship was born out of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and resulted in a diaspora of ingredients, cooking techniques, and culture. Much of the shared culture can be seen through food and drink. Barbados’ Bajan cuisine is a mixture of African, Portuguese, Indian, Irish, Creole, Indigenous and British and feels, in important ways, familiar to South Carolinians. We’ll be spending this dinner reflecting the melange of cuisines with cocktails mixed with Mount Gay Rum – the oldest rum distillery in the world.
