We The Pizza: A Conversation with Muhammad Abdul-Hadi
Join us for an evening in conversation with Muhammad Abdul-Hadi, founder and owner of Down North Pizza, the mission-driven restaurant in North Philadelphia that exclusively hires formerly incarcerated individuals with the goal of reducing recidivism rates in North Philly and serving up the most insanely delicious food while doing it. This evening we will be celebrating the release of Abdul-Hadi’s cookbook, We The Pizza, a testament to survival, second chances, and spectacular pizzas, wings, and more. Moderated by KJ Kearney, creator of Black Food Fridays, expect a meaningful conversation rooted in activism through food and collaboration.
Books will be available for purchase on-site and we will be serving up some slices, beer, and wine during the event, and guests will have the opportunity to have a copy of the book signed by Muhammad and take photos following the conversation.
