Graphic Design Intern

POSITION TITLE: Graphic Design Intern

CONTRACT LENGTH: August 2019 – April 2020

REPORTS TO: Senior Graphic Designer

ROLE OVERVIEW: 

We’re looking for a motivated, creative go-getter with a passion for graphic design and creative problem-solving to assist + support the production of brand collateral, signage, and digital content. Through this internship, this new team member will gain hands-on design + marketing experience and learn what it takes to produce our multi-faceted, world-class culinary event, which will be back in March 2020 for its 15th annual installment. This internship does not provide a stipend or wage.


DUTIES:

Assist in creating marketing collateral (examples: direct mail pieces, posters, tickets, etc.)

Support in the creation and on-site organization of event signage

Assist with website content updates

Collaborate on the design of social media and eNewsletter graphics

Assist with the management of our photo database 

Participate + complete all formal onboarding procedures

Identify areas of opportunity that will strengthen/enhance the festival.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Experience and proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign (in this order of importance)

Excellent presentation and communication skills 

Must be accurate, organized and punctual with diligent attention to detail

Proficiency in Google Drive + Dropbox

Ability to complete projects on time 

Provide own laptop that is able to run cloud-based softwares including Adobe CC Suite

Ability to multi-task and work proactively 

Comfortable working in an outdoor setting (rain, cold, mud)

Ability to do some physical work (lifting boxes, field set-up)

Must be available for festival dates (Monday, March 2 – Monday March 9)

Must be available 10 – 15 hours per week at the Charleston Wine + Food office
