COVID-19 Hub

COVID-19 Hub

As an organization that strives to be a catalyst for connection, we are committed to use our platform to amplify the messages of our community – the restaurants, bars, hotels, and hospitality businesses that make up the fabric of our beautiful city. This page will act as a Hub where we will share valuable resources and communicate to our stakeholders how they can help the culinary + hospitality industry during this pandemic.

Support Black-Owned Eateries

Support Charleston’s Black-owned restaurants, Black-owned restaurants around the country, and Black beverage professionals.

COVID-19 Resources for Workers

Over 16 million people have lost their jobs due to stay-at-home orders and budget cuts in response to COVID-19. This uncertain time has forced us into uncomfortable situations and caused many to seek financial security elsewhere.

Resources for workers include emergency relief funds, information on filing for unemployment, daily support groups with Ben’s Friendstips for maintaining your mental + emotional wellbeing.

Support the Industry during COVID-19

The restaurant + hospitality communities have been one of the most greatly affected industries in this crisis. They support so many wonderful causes and employ millions of people. They need our help.

Order your next meal to-go, tip your favorite bartenders virtually, purchase gift cards for later use, and support the Independent Restaurant Stabilization Fund.

Patronize Your Local Restaurants

Local restaurants make up the fabric of our communities – they are where you celebrate special occasions, catch up with family and friends, and they support so many wonderful causes.

We encourage you to use this Local Dining Database and order your next meal to go, book a private dining experience, and patron the businesses that are able to offer socially-distant dining.

Help Inform Advocacy + Policy Efforts

As we approach the one-year mark since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the data of its effects on restaurants has been conducted on a national level and localizing that data has proven difficult.

Through a survey administered by the College of Charleston Office of Tourism Analysis and with support from the City of Charleston, we aim to investigate the ongoing state of the Charleston restaurant industry amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
