Batching Cocktails + Batching Kitchen

As you are considering your cocktail recipe, please keep in mind that you will need to be ready to serve at a high volume for your event(s). We encourage you to batch a ready to drink cocktail that simply needs to be chilled and garnished before serving.

CHSWF will have a batching kitchen available throughout the duration of the festival. The location and schedule will be shared at a later date. If you are a visiting mixologist, you will have the opportunity to schedule time in our Batching Kitchen via your forms. There will be CHSWF support available in the Batching Kitchen if you need assistance preparing for your event(s); however, we do ask that you plan to prep and batch your own cocktail(s). Local mixologists, we encourage you to prep at your bar and arrive at your events ready to serve. If you need Batching Kitchen space for any reason, please contact Aneel de Albuquerque at [email protected]

Stipends for Cocktails

If you are programmed to create a cocktail at any event (outside of a restaurant or bar as they will receive a stipend directly), you will receive a stipend post-festival to cover the costs of specialty items and modifiers you’d like to include in your cocktail. In addition to this stipend, CHSWF will provide the base spirit for your cocktail and basic garnishes, as well as provide all event infrastructure (i.e. front and back bar tables, linens, glassware, ice, signage, etc). Stipend amounts are shared via your event-specific form.

If you are a Visiting Mixologist, you will have the option to have CHSWF Batch Kitchen procure your items from a Class B distributor allowing ingredients to be available when you arrive. Please note that these purchases must come from the stipend amount agreed upon between talent and CHSWF. If you do not complete your form by the February 12, 2024 deadline, you will be responsible for procuring your product with the stipend.

Here’s an example to clarify: If you are making a negroni. CHSWF will provide the gin. You will then use your stipend money to procure campari and vermouth. You will be able to order that through the Batch Kitchen’s Class B license and have it available to you upon arrival at the Batch Kitchen. Please be mindful of the budget and amount needed to pour per event.
