John Rutledge House Inn served as the perfect place for Katie to rest + recharge throughout the weekend. She enjoyed dinner on Friday evening at Circa 1886, located at Charming Inn’s sister property, Wentworth Mansion.

Katie stopped for breakfast + coffee at babas on Cannon, a local Cannonborough hot-spot, before jumping into her day. Their specialty coffees can’t be beat, and pro tip: don’t skip the overnight oats. This local favorite will leave you fueled up + ready to tackle any activity on your itinerary.
MID-MORNING MOVEMENT: TULUA YOGA

Ashley Cox, founder of TULUA Yoga, led Katie through TULUA’s Signature Vibrational Arts class, complete with restorative yoga + meditation work. The sun was shining in Charleston over the weekend, and Hampton Park proved to be the perfect spot for this mid-morning activity.
LUNCH STOP: BASIC KITCHEN

In line with their motto, “Cleaner Fuel, Longer Adventures”, Basic Kitchen served as the perfect stop for a mid-day meal following yoga and before an afternoon spent exploring the city streets. The seasonal menu and local, simple ingredients will leave you feeling nourished + energized to conquer any day trip activity.
AN EVENING WELL SPENT: JACKRABBIT FILLY

After spending the afternoon exploring downtown Charleston, Katie hopped in her Toyota Venza and made the drive up to Park Circle, North Charleston. Jackrabbit Filly provided a flavor-packed ending to the evening, serving up heritage-driven New Chinese American cuisine in a fun + friendly neighborhood. Pro tip: we recommend sampling several plates, as much of the menu is designed for sharing!
HANDS-ON ACTIVITY: CASUAL CRABBING WITH TIA

After a night refreshing + recharging, Katie kicked off her Sunday with a hands-on activity: Casual Crabbing with Tia. She learned about the local crustaceans + the delicate art of throwing a cast net on the banks of the Ashley River alongside Tia, a Charleston native who has been crabbing for years. It was the perfect local activity before heading back to Atlanta.
