Southern-based event and communications specialist Laura Kate Whitney has joined the Charleston Wine + Food team in the role of Marketing & Communications Director. Laura Kate will work closely with staff, partners and media to drive brand awareness and promotion of the annual five-day event.
A veteran member of the CHSWFF team, Laura Kate’s involvement with Charleston Wine + Food dates back to its inaugural year in 2006.
“Through the hard work of many individuals over the last ten years, Charleston Wine + Food truly has established itself as a leading culinary destination, and I can’t wait to share that story as the festival continues to grow its engagement with a global audience,” says Laura Kate. “My love for the festival and this city is boundless. I’m beyond excited to return to Charleston.”
Laura Kate currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama where she is owner and Chief Connector at Dogtrot, a creative house specializing in PR, marketing and design. She will begin her work with Charleston Wine + Food immediately and will be moving to Charleston, SC full-time on August 1.
