Widmer Brothers is an American brewery founded in 1984 in Portland, Oregon by brothers Kurt and Robert H. Widmer. It is the 9th largest brewing company in the US as part of the Craft Brewers Alliance, Inc.  In 1986, the Widmer Brothers introduced their Hefeweizen to America.[3] In November 2007, Redhook Ale Brewery and Widmer Brothers officially announced plans to merge, forming a new company called Craft Brewers Alliance.[4]
