In 1962, Early Scott opened Scott’s BBQ. My father began working there at the age of 14. Shortly after that Early took my father in as a son, and taught him how to become a pit master. Early retired in 1989 and my father became the sole proprietor. I was born in 1991 and at age 11 I started working at Scott’s BBQ. As I grew up dad gradually put more responsibility on my shoulders; teaching me the great pit master ways. In April of 2013, he passed away handing the torch down to me. So I get up each morning, go to work, and pour my heart and soul into making a masterpiece. I take pride in carrying on the whole hog tradition.
