Sara Floyd began her wine career in her early twenties working as an assistant to Larry Stone, MS at Rubicon restaurant in San Francisco. It is at Rubicon where she began her studies for the Master Sommelier exams.  In 1996, Ms. Floyd moved on to become the Wine Director for Vertigo Restaurant at the base of the Transamerica building in San Francisco for which she developed an award winning wine list and worked with some of the top chefs of the city.  In 1998, Ms Floyd became the Wine Director for the world renowned Postrio Restaurant in San Francisco. Ms. Floyd continued to produce one of the most exciting, profitable wine programs in the California Bay Area. In 1999, Ms. Floyd left the restaurant industry to pursue a wine sales career, working for Martine Saunier of Martine’s Wines as the National Sales Manager.

In 2001, Ms Floyd launched her own company, Swirl Wine Brokers, a California wine broker company which represents high quality wines throughout California, France, Greece, and Portugal.  In addition to running Swirl, Ms Floyd is the National Sales Director for Jorge Ordonez, the preeminent importer of quality Spanish wines in the U.S.  Ms. Floyd is considered to be a leading authority of the wines from Spain and travels extensively through Spain visiting wine regions and participates in the blending of many of the wines she represents

In February of 2003, Ms. Floyd passed the rigorous Master Sommelier exam, making her one of nineteen women in the world to have gained the title of Master Sommelier.

In 2007 Ms. Floyd and the Pisoni Family launched a Northern California winery,  Luli Wines which specializes in high quality , great value wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands.  They produce, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Rose. Luli wines produce a total of 12 thousand cases a year and are sold throughout the United States.
