Richard started his career as an award-winning music journalist, then went on to become a genre-spanning lifestyle journalist who contributed to The New York Times, LA Weekly, Village Voice, while launching and editing magazines including Complex and Manhattan. A committed cook — especially at breakfast, when he mixes upstate New York eggs with grits smuggled north from the Carolinas — Martin lives in Brooklyn and Ghent, NY with his wife and two children.
