Kristian Niemi, owner of Bourbon Columbia and Partner of the Farm to Table Event Company, is a pioneer in Columbia’s flourishing food and beverage industry, having opened some of Columbia’s most popular farm-to-table restaurants including: Mr. Friendly’s New Southern Café, Gervais & Vine, Solstice Kitchen and Wine Bar, Rosso Trattoria and Bourbon, a popular whiskey bar and Cajun-Creole kitchen. His love of farm-to-table cuisine comes from working under Chef Ken Goff at the Dakota Bar and Grill in St. Paul, Minnesota, where every menu was crafted from local farms. Niemi’s own commitment to local farms is demonstrated in the creative, seasonal cuisine he designs for his restaurants and for Farm to Table Event Company. Up next for Niemi is opening a 7100 sq. foot mixed-use property in the NOMA neighborhood of Columbia, which he plans to house a restaurant featuring hyperlocal ingredients, a beer garden, bocce courts, cold-smoke rooms, a butcher counter and a concert hall.
