Josh Keeler graduated from New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vermont. After cooking in Philadelphia restaurants for several years, the one-time dishwasher moved to Charleston with his wife, Heather, and their dog, Walter, in 2009. Not long after, Josh and Heather opened Two Boroughs Larder in downtown Charleston. In 2016, the Keelers reluctantly closed Two Boroughs Larder, and Josh joined 492 as Executive Chef.

Keeler has been named a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef Southeast, was nominated for Food & Wine’s People’s Best New Chef, and received the StarChefs Rising Star Chef Award. He has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Southern Living, and Travel + Leisure.

Keeler is also a passionate supporter of Share Our Strength’s “No Kid Hungry” initiative. Without fail, he attributes his success to his staff, past and present.
