At the very top of his game, Jim Ryan was freshly crowed Best American Brand Ambassador at Tales of the Cocktail this year, a homage to his peculiar work with Hendrick’s Gin.
A devotion to quality ingredients and creative mixology mixed with an unusual dash of eccentricity makes Jim Ryan the perfect embodiment of Hendrick’s. His holistic approach to bartending and productive dreams, have allowed Jim to hone his craft and bring a unique perspective to his role as Ambassador.
Jim worked his way up through the ranks as a bartender and mixologist in some of New York’s top bars and lounges. While working under the tutelage of the famed Jean-Georges Vongerichten, at Perry Street Restaurant, Jim discovered a passion for anticipation and invisibility in service as well as a seasonal approach to mixology. He brought that perspective to Brooklyn’s Dressler Restaurant where he served as beverage director developing the restaurant’s bar program until he joined Hendrick’s Gin as an Ambassador in 2008. Jim currently educates on the technical minutia of gin distillation and how best to build cucumber conservatories across the USA.
