Emile is an artisanal pork producer, and operates Caw Caw Creek Pastured Pork in St. Matthews, SC.  For many years he was a board member and South Carolina director of Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, as well as the founding Chair of the South Carolina Food Policy Committee.  In 2006 he was a losing (but effective!) candidate for SC Commissioner of Agriculture, running on his slogan “Put Your State On Your Plate,” founded Columbia, SC’s All Local Farmers’ Market in 2005, and recently served as a member of then-candidate Senator Obama’s Agriculture Advisory Committee.

Emile loves food, the challenge of farming and business, and finding ways to connect farmers and feeders.
