We strive to be a good steward of our city and its foodways. Our priority is to create an annual economic injection that fuels Charleston’s vibrancy and growth. We work closely with partners + industry leaders to identify opportunities to contribute financially to organizations or persons that directly benefit our local foodway initiatives and strengthen our local community.
This is paramount to the organization’s annual focus. Ninety-two cents of every dollar we spend producing the festival has a direct measurable impact on our city’s economy. Year after year, the economic impact of Charleston Wine + Food is more than quadruple the organization’s annual budget.
ONE80 Place Training
ONE80 Place Training has significantly impacted the strength and sustainability of our local foodways + culinary community. It is an honor to support this program through financial contributions and the opportunity for its enrollees to participate in a paid externship during the festival.
In partnership with the College of Charleston, CHSWFF funds a four-year scholarship and a Senior Scholarship awarded to deserving students who intends to declare a major, minor, or concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Our long-term hope is to retain experienced professional talent within the local industry.
During the academic year, CHSWFF works with a group of students enrolled in a PR class at the College of Charleston. Their class serves as our local “agency of record.” The objective of this fellowship is to provide real-world educational opportunities, while also executing marketing efforts that will shine a light on our community.
Our interns don’t fetch coffee; they are an integral part of our team. Throughout the year we work with students from local colleges to provide mentorship opportunities and real-world work experience. Following an internship with CHSWFF, past interns have been employed at companies locally, regionally and nationally.
